Quzilla Capital Spins Off M&A Financial Analysis SaaS "beluuga.ai" as an Independent Subsidiary — Two Finance Industry Veterans Invest Personally

Quzilla Capital, Inc. (Tokyo; Founder & CEO: Shinji Takeuchi) today announced that it has spun off its AI-powered M&A financial analysis SaaS business, beluuga.ai, into a newly established, independent subsidiary, Beluga AI, Inc. (Representative Director: Shinji Takeuchi). Alongside the spin-off, two veterans of Japan's finance industry — Akio Katsuragi and Nobuaki Kurumatani — have made personal investments in the new company, citing their confidence in the product and its growth potential.

Financial analysis work in M&A remains heavily dependent on manual review of primary-source disclosures and Excel-based modeling, driving chronically long working hours. At the same time, recruiting and retaining junior bankers has grown increasingly difficult industry-wide, making the standardization and efficiency of analysis work a shared challenge across the sector. beluuga.ai was built to address this: it aims to "compress junior banker work time by 95%, while maintaining analysis quality and output comparable to top-tier investment banks."

The spin-off is part of a strategic move by the Quzilla Capital group to concentrate resources and strengthen the product's development and customer support functions. Bringing in outside capital as part of the independence also validates that the product and business plan can withstand third-party scrutiny.

Akio Katsuragi (former President & CEO, Lehman Brothers Japan Inc.; current Chairman, Crosspoint Advisors, Inc.)

"A banker's true value lies not in analysis work itself, but in the deep trust built with clients. By letting beluuga.ai handle routine analysis through AI, bankers can focus on the verification, judgment, and relationship-building that only humans can provide — that is the future our industry should move toward."

Nobuaki Kurumatani (former Deputy President & Representative Director, Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation; former Chairman & Co-Representative, CVC Capital Partners Japan; former President & CEO, Toshiba Corporation; current President & CEO, Japan Industrial Advisory, Inc.)

"AI-driven efficiency in M&A work is now unavoidable — not only at financial institutions and investment funds, but at operating companies as well. I expect beluuga.ai to become a strong support for professionals working on the front lines."

Shinji Takeuchi, Representative Director of Beluga AI, Inc., commented: "Existing AI tools have fallen short of the standards required in investment banking and fund practice — struggling with Japanese disclosure documents, differences in accounting standards, and the context needed to interpret share price movements. beluuga.ai overcomes these challenges and aims to place AI at the core of financial workflows. I'm deeply grateful that these two investors' backing is proof we're moving in the right direction."
